Stephen Scheurer-Smith
Writer / Director

Professional info
Actor, Roleplayer, Playwright and founder of Big Squirrel Productions. Since joining equity in 2010 I am no longer plain Stephen Smith (although my previous plays are still published under this name) which is probably for the best and nice to acknowledge my swiss mother who sadly passed away in January 2009.
Having written and directed plays since 1985, I formed production company Big Squirrel Productions in 2010.
Theatre
A playwright for over thirty years and winner of numerous Best New Play awards. For Big Squirrel Productions he wrote and directed A MIDDLE-AGED MAN'S UNCERTAINTY THEORY and CHRYSALIS which have both been performed at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His plays have also been performed worldwide as well as throughout the UK. He has recently had PENALTY translated into Romanian for a tour and PARENTCRAFT translated into Dutch. Stephen has written and produced twenty five plays with some of the most popular being DEPARTURE, BACKGROUND ARTIST and BARBECUE. As an actor he has appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe in the premiere of JOINED AT THE HEART and in CHRYSALIS. He is also a professional roleplay actor involved mainly with communication skills training for the medical and verterinary professions. More details on www.stephenscheurersmith.com
